International Day of Peace is just around the corner!
Every year on September 21st, people around the world celebrate the United Nations’ International Day of Peace (IDP), a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace both within and among all nations and peoples. Activities and events range from events planned just for the occasion to recognitions of the day being added to existing activities. In previous years, celebrations have ranged from peace walks to concerts, and include art showcases, community outreach, and peace education programs.
Will your Cooperation Circle/Affiliate join the millions of people around the world celebrating this day?
When you fill out this form, your event will be posted on URI’s website AND cross-posted partners sites, including UNIFY, the Compassion Games and 1 Billion Acts of Peace. Members of your organization will also be qualified to apply for a trip to the United Nations (see below).
Opportunity to Visit the United Nations
When your URI North America Cooperation Circle or Affiliate celebrates International Day of Peace and shares a report of your event, members of your North America Cooperation Circle or Affiliate will automatically qualify to apply for a partially-funded visit to celebrate World Interfaith Harmony Week at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City (February 2018). Special consideration will be given to youth. Keep an eye out for more details in the coming weeks and months!
