URI North America shares anti-human trafficking resources

URI North America hosted a webinar to empower faith, interfaith and community leaders to take action against human trafficking — the second largest illegal industry in the world. Our panelists shared educational material, program ideas, best practices and more.

But don’t just take our word for it! Here is some feedback from one of our participants, Patty Carroll: “Thank you for a most informative and excellent webinar. I belong to a Social Justice Ministry at Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville, NY. We have been very concerned and aware of this, but had no idea how to help. I will share with my director and members at our next meeting. Once again, thank you, thank you and thank you again.”

If you were on the call, would you take a minute to share your feedback?

Because the information from this seminar was so valuable, we want it to live on long after the webinar is over. We are offering these resources to guide you as you take action to end human trafficking. You can listen to an archived version of the webinar using the link below or dig into resources using the Resource and Action Packet. It’s all up to you!

  • Resource and Action Packet (PDF file . Word file.)
  • PowerPoints and prepared remarks (View online.)
  • Archived version of “Vaccinating Our Communities Against Human Trafficking” (Watch online: http://bit.ly/1BrR07h)

Many thanks to our panelists who made all of this happen — Beatrice Kahn of the National Council of Jewish Women’s Exodus Program, Gail Hambleton of the Safe Haven Program of the Global Peace Foundation-USA, Elisa Morales, a New York New Abolitionist and Pastor Troy Martinez, Producer of the Emmy-nominated documentary Trafficked No More; member of the Interfaith Council of S. Nevada Cooperation Circle.

One last thing: the winners of the free Safe Haven Campaign Small Group Study Series have been notified, so lookout for a message from sari@uri.org.

If this seminar or material has inspired you to action, we’d love to hear about it! Email us at northamerica@uri.org to tell us your story. If you would like more information on how to get involved with URI, please email us as well.
